So, I’ve been coming across some new verbs . . . ?

I actually said that in a meeting a few weeks ago. I guess I didn’t really mean “new,” but underutilized in education – verbs that should be utilized if we are to take a 21st Century approach to curriculum-writing. I have a few links for you about these verbs – both from Andrew Churches from Auckland, New Zealand – seems to be a lot going on in New Zealand in the area of instructional technology (I’ve just been hearing quite a bit over the last couple years).
The first one is about Bloom’s Digital Taxononmy . In the beginning of the paper, Churches describes the taxonomy. By the end, he presents some of the lessons he has designed in which he pulls “web 2.0″ tools into the learning process. The thing I like is that this isn’t your normal lesson-plan sharing – this is much more generic, much more adaptable.
The second is a blog post about assessment and Bloom’s Digital. What I like about this is that he echoes a lot of what I am advocating regarding the use of digital tools in the assessment and evaluation processes. He even mentions classroom formative assessment (CFA) – seems that CFA (he termed it AFL – assessment for learning) is the right work in any education circle.
As, you can see – I love this stuff!
